Augusta University (AU) is seeking an outstanding academic leader to serve as its next Associate Provost Faculty Affairs (APFA). The position reports directly to the Vice Provost and serves as the chief faculty affairs officer. The APFA provides strategic and operational leadership that advances Augusta University's presence and stature among the nation's premier public research universities to become a destination of choice for students, faculty, and staff.

Opened in 1991, Christenberry Fieldhouse (CFH) houses 11 of the Augusta Jaguars' 13 competition sports. In addition to housing all administrative and support staff for the Augusta University Department of Athletics, CFH also houses the College of Education and Human Development's Kinesiology Department. The Forest Hills Campus, on which CFH is located, also houses a full-size golf course, baseball, softball and soccer fields and serves as the home of the Jaguars' nationally recognized NCAA Division I golf team.

Our campus libraries, the Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library on the Health Sciences Campus and the Reese Library on the Summerville Campus, provide comprehensive information resources and services in support of the teaching, discovery, and clinical care mission of our student-centered research university and academic medical center.

Responsibilities
The Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs is a dynamic, forward-thinking academic leader with strong personal and professional integrity who will work closely with the Vice Provost, Deans, and other Vice Presidents to develop and advance the strategic academic mission of Augusta University. The APFA serves as the chief faculty affairs officer working closely and collaboratively with academic leadership to focus on faculty affairs. The APFA is also expected to provide leadership in faculty development initiatives and oversight of promotion and tenure. In collaboration with other senior leadership, the APFA will help to oversee the development and implementation of academic policy related to the faculty affairs.

Preferred Qualifications
Augusta University seeks an accomplished academic executive who can work effectively and collaboratively in an academic culture. The ideal candidate will also possess:

A terminal degree appropriate to her/his discipline;
Five or more years of significant academic administrative experience;
Demonstrated success fostering collaboration with faculty and academic units both vertically and horizontally;
Strong mentorship experience and proven ability to grow and develop others;
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of different constituents coupled with strong emotional intelligence;
Past experience driving noteworthy change while simultaneously embodying the Augusta University values of collegiality, compassion, excellence, inclusivity, integrity, and leadership;
Knowledge of and familiarity with the development of online and non-traditional programs;
Appreciation for the importance of shared governance and the ability to interface constructively with the faculty senate and other campus leaders;
Demonstrated capacity to execute plans effectively and deliberately to achieve success;
Proven ability to think strategically and engage stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and cooperation;
Experience with strategic planning and strategy development within a higher education environment;
Proven support of diversity and inclusion amongst faculty, staff, and students; and
Commitment to excellence both professionally and personally with the highest level of integrity.
