The Georgia Cancer Center M. Bert Storey Research Building provides quality research space to promote multidisciplinary collaborations and translational research, which is essential to creating an environment that promotes innovation. Our research approach supports important National Cancer Institute goals including ensuring every cancer patient has access to the newest and most innovative clinical trials in the nation, clinicians and researchers work together to initiate new research protocols based on the clinician's interaction with the patient, and each cancer patient receives personalized treatment through the interaction of the multidisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals.

Job Summary
The Research Associate responsibilities will be for managing and coordinating multisite Georgia Cancer Center projects and initiatives. These projects may be research related, clinical service delivery and/or population health focused. The selected candidate will work with the various project teams in a collaborative fashion to be responsible for administrative coordination amongst various sub teams and external partner sites.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:

Manages project communications with project sponsor, team leaders, and team members, ensuring all are presented with current information on the status of all current projects through a structured communications plan.

Maintains action item lists for all projects assigned and responsible for the assurance that project deliverables and timeline are met.

Works with the Project Sponsor and supervisors of team members to appropriately identify, negotiate, and ensure adequate resources are available and allocated to project team structures. Prepares and updates master project schedule and track task completion for individual projects (as appropriate for each effort). Coordinates and leads team meetings.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Willingness and ability to work with research animals
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Grade: R14

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
