The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in its Department of Otolaryngology. The faculty member should be devoted to the education and development of outstanding clinicians according to core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning, communication, professionalism, and systems-based practice. Opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in scholarly activities. Duties will include patient care, resident and fellow teaching, and academic productivity. The position comprises a clinical appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology at a level commensurate with credentials and experience. The Otolaryngologist would participate in committees, present cases in the case conferences, manage patient workups and procedures according to department guidelines, and adopt any tools and/or technologies deemed part of the University. This position is non-tenure track.

Responsibilities
The Otolaryngologist should have excellent listening skills, a sharp eye for detail, and brilliant communication abilities.

Educate Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residents and medical students
Care for Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery patients
Perform research in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery

Required Qualifications
Earned a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university; must have or be eligible for a medical license.

Board-certified or board certified eligible and have completed fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
Evidence of ability as a teacher;
Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class.
