Job Overview
The Clinical Research Coordinator provides prime responsibilities for activities related to Survey, Recruitment, and Biospecimen Collection Shared Resource (SRBSR) Services at Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) – in duties that include but are not limited to:
Recruits patients to the SRBSR Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved protocol, the Georgetown MedStar Research Registry (GMR2) and other IRB approved protocols administered by the SRBSR.
Conducts all work according to the study protocols, standard operating procedures, HIPAA, and human subjects protection guidelines
Administers screening clinic schedules, obtains informed consent on all eligible and interested participants, administers study related questionnaires, administers biospecimen acquisition and delivery, and performs data entry and maintenance of records
Provides patient follow-up and triage to patients into relevant related studies
Fully documents all procedures and conducts routine quality assurance checks
Provides data requests and reports to the SRBSR Director as needed
Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Georgetown University Medical Center’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the SRBSR Director with oversight provided by the SRBSR co-directors., the
Clinical Research Coordinator has interactions with
SRBSR Clinical Research Coordinators
SRBSR Database Manager
Principal Investigators, Physicians, Clinicians, Infusion Nurses and hospital staff
Georgetown University Institutional Review Board
GUMC Shared Resources, including TCBSR and HTSR
Study sponsors and study monitors
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health related field
At least 2 years of experience in clinical research
Experience with interactive databases, Microsoft, and EHR systems
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and analytical ability
Ability to work independently and to function successfully within a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
