Summary

The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Baylor College of Medicine serves as the official institutional liaison between its academic programs, affiliate partners, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). GME provides administrative oversight and academic quality for over 180 ACGME accredited and Texas Medical Board approved residency and clinical fellowship programs. Under the direction of the Institutional Designated Official and Business Operations Manager, the Lead Coordinator provides advanced professional project management experience in the coordination and execution of various processes relating to the education and training goals and missions. The Lead Coordinator may provide administrative support, generate, manage, and analyze data reports for assigned academic programs.  The position requires a person able to work well within a team environment and with a willingness to assist team members when needed.

Job Purpose

Provides administrative support for academic support programs, functions, and activities related to Graduate Medical Education (GME).

Job Duties

 
• Routinely provides advanced administrative support to training programs, including Program Coordinators, Program Directors, Residents, Fellows, and other stakeholders.
• Reviews credentialing requirements and maintains personnel for assigned trainees in the institutional database.
• Works closely with team members or directly with learners and programs to resolve credentialing issues.  
• Supports the coordination efforts of GME Administrative Orientation for Residents and Fellows. 
• Manages various system application utilized in GME such as MedHub, SuccessFactors, SAP, OneDrive, Smartsheets, etc. that are used for hiring, promotion, termination, and maintaining trainee personnel records and rotation schedules.   
• Prepares high-level slide presentations, organization of key presenters during team meetings, program meetings, trainings, and follow-up with key stakeholders across the institution.  
• Provides orientation, training, education, and severs as a resource for GME related functions and workflows. 
• May serve as an administrator for one or more institutional GME committees. 
• Facilitates communication between to academic departments and affiliate partners regarding program initiatives and educational activities. 
   

Minimum Qualifications

  •  High School diploma or GED.
  •  Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of ACGME accreditation requirements and Texas Medical Board standards. Including specific knowledge and experience with ACGME Common Program Requirements, ACGME's Next Accreditation System, specialty-specific Review Committee requirements, and specialty board requirements.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), MedHub, SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
  • Previous work experience in an academic medicine environment is preferred.
