Summary

The Center for Space Medicine (CSM) is seeking an organized and exceptional Research Administration Associate to support the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) portfolio of funded research studies. The Research Administration Associate will facilitate activities pertaining to the Institute’s innovative space biomedical research projects, commercial space research initiative, interactions with NASA, and its program focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within the space health community.  The role will report to the TRISH Chief Scientific Officer.

 

This is a hybrid role requiring one day a week onsite.

Job Duties

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of TRISH solicitation/post-award technical tracking for Institute-funded projects across the entire portfolio of TRISH activities, ranging from disruptive scientific studies to commercial space initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for process revisions and implement changes as appropriate for TRISH Grant Research Integrated Dashboard (GRID).
  • Manage solicitation/review of applications submitted through GRID and support investigators on GRID requirements as needed.
  • Prepare/review financial requests and oversee submission of cooperative agreement purchases within BCM systems.
  • Track financials ensuring that annual budget performance is in line with expectations and NASA allocations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets for NASA and BCM on a quarterly and annual reporting basis.
  • Develop/prepare/review TRISH/NASA reports/presentations to ensure BCM federal compliance with NASA cooperative agreement requirements.
  • Ensure that TRISH investigators/budgets/annual reports are in compliance with TRISH, NASA, and federal guidelines and required documents are submitted by deadlines.
  • Track, communicate and ensure compliance of TRISH guidelines regarding progress report and close out process.
  • Draft and edit documents ranging from policies and procedures to solicitation-related documents and high-level reports.
  • Organize/maintain/manage project documents and scientific deliverables within relevant TRISH data repositories/databases.
  • Track new publications, intellectual property, Institutional Review Board and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee protocols, and other documents as needed.
  • Oversee responsibilities as needed in support of TRISH Science Office.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee in-person and virtual events.
  • Assist the TRISH Science and Communications offices with weekly tasks from organization of meeting agendas to overseeing mail and outreach materials.
  • Coordinate meetings among team members and external stakeholders on behalf of the Chief Scientific Officer.
  • Continuously seek improvements to TRISH operations and workflows

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or certification in project management or process improvement
