Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating and implementing Honors program events, processes and activities, including but not limited to marketing recruitment, admissions, orientation, database and Infopath Form management, website maintenance and all social media outreach procedures. This position works closely with the Senior Director, Campus Coordinators, Faculty, Honors Students, and members of Broward College and local communities to encourage and provide student support services. Additionally, this position will require occasional weekend or evening hours and frequently travels between campuses. Performs related duties as assigned.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.  
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered where applicable.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Four years of directly related experience. Experience with Honors educational programs preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily -30%: Develops and distributes graphic media for promotion of events, courses, deadlines, and other key messaging opportunities. Records and edits video for distribution from college fairs, events, and public speakers for social media and D2L. Manages and maintains Broward College Honors image and video repositories. Develops media and operational logistics for Honors Sharepoint site, LinktoFAU program, and Dual Enrollment, and BC Hackathon.
  • Weekly-20%: Consults and collaborates with Honors faculty to determine digital media and instructional technology needs. Provides support to staff, faculty, and student users as needed related to instructional applications. Assists faculty and staff in adapting new media for web-based or digital-based formats.
  • Weekly -10%: Driving recruitment efforts off and on-campus at High Schools, Transfer Fairs, College Fairs, and Informational workshops. Assists in the creation and management of recruitment efforts including tracking prospects, potential, current, and other classifications of students. Assists in planning and developing recruitment goals for the Honors College.
  • Daily -10%: Provides support activities for the Honors team such as, prioritizing requests and answering telephones; Assists with the resolution of problems and inquiries of visitors; Reviews and controls incoming and outgoing correspondence,  follows-up on operational commitments. Establishes, updates, and maintains Honors files, inventories, and records; implements and maintains data management systems, as required.
  • Daily-10%: Develops and assists Senior Director in training workshops for faculty on the creation and use of multimedia tools and instructional technology that can be used to create online course content. Trains faculty, staff, and students in the use of eLearning, multimedia, and mobile technologies using instructor-led, live, online, and other eLearning techniques.
  • Daily -10%: Maintains current knowledge of changing trends, new technologies and software, and advises Senior Director and District Staff on best practices. Supports Honors Student Committee activities and provides Senior Director and Honors Staff with regular updates on agreed upon KPIs.
  • Researches new trends, ideas, and topics for future enhancements and learning strategies.
  • Daily -10%: Serves as liaison between various departments or agencies and the student clarifying procedures and practices. Supports Campus Coordinator and Honors Staff with online course development and maintenance as needed.
  • Other, as Needed - 5%:Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of web site maintenance, social media outreach, appropriate software for development of media tangibles and database management, recruitment/advisement services, registration, community involvement and library services.
  • Knowledge of transfer scholarships and financial aid packages and their application process.
  • Fully proficient in professional and functional standards and protocols of position
  • General understanding of the College’s structure, policies, procedures, and practices as it pertains to the immediate area and the college as a whole.
  • Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function
  • Ability to assist in the training of student, employees, volunteers and/or temporary staff or part-time staff.
  • Expertise in understanding and following project plans, including the coordination of multiple resources and activities
  • Understanding of and ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and of resources from outside the area
  • Ability to exchange information with individuals and collaborate and colleagues within the College as well as presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population and present financial aid workshop material both within and outside the college community.
  • Familiarity with majors and requirements for transferring to colleges and universities.
