Job Profile Summary

This position coordinates, supports, and monitors all pre and post award activities regarding grants and contracts secured on behalf of the college. This position will be responsible for coordinating activities related to researching funding sources, grant writing, grants training, managing centralized grants clearinghouse, providing administrative support for grant submissions, and assist with post-award management.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Six years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, while adhering to required internal and external policies and procedures. Experience in grant writing for federal or state agencies required. Experience in working collaboratively with various groups including senior administrators, staff, faculty, federal and state officials, and community stakeholders. Experience in program coordination, project management and demonstrated experience in developing budgets.  
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Essential Functions: 

  • Weekly -5%: Researches grant and resource opportunities through electronic and print materials that match Broward College initiatives and strategic goals, and makes referrals for departmental consideration.
  • Daily -10%: Coordinates all grant related activities with external and internal stakeholders including: Pre-Award: proposal adherence to internal institutional and external funder policies, procedures, and other requirements; Post-Award: monitoring of internal control processes and reporting compliance.
  • Weekly -50%: Responsible for grant writing including, conducting and evaluating research, and working collaboratively with internal and external personnel to develop grant proposals that support the mission and goals of Broward College.
  • Weekly -10%: Collaborates with other members of the Office of Grants Development in a project-oriented, team environment to complete tasks and objectives of the office. Assists faculty and staff in directly accessing information concerning potential grant funding opportunities; fosters personal and professional development.
  • Weekly-10%: Performs technical, analytical and professional tasks with particular emphasis on the collection, interpretation, assessment of feasibility and alignment with BC’s strategic goals and initiatives, aggregation and evaluation of data, and the incorporation of data into proposals.
  • Monthly -5%: Assists team in developing multi-media resource development and administration tools to facilitate grant seeking and administration
  • As Needed- 10%: Performs other duties as assigned

  • Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products and specialized computer systems
