Job Description Summary:

To anticipate, analyze, develop, and implement the financial aid management application system and databases in order to meet the needs of the Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs offices.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Identifies records/documents with conflicting information and follows up with students and financial aid specialists. Maintains student files using imaging software system.
2) Designs, tests, modifies, and documents queries and reports in support of custom and vended software applications.

3) Defines specifications, establishes data groups and tables, establishes, modifies, and documents electronic workflows/business processes, and develops and maintains documentation.
4) Contributes to decision support and workflow by interpreting enrollment goals and apply these decisions to the design, analysis and presentation of queries, reports and communication plans.
5) Responds to a variety of requests for data from both internal and external customers relative to statistical analysis and information about student groups awarded financial aid.
6) Acquires and maintains knowledge of the federal, state, and institutional student financial aid policies and practices and integrates that knowledge into the systems and programs relative to this position.
7) Identifies procedural deficiencies/inefficiencies related to pre-determined workflows and works to eliminate or minimize them.
8) Coordinates assignments with other staff (e.g. - projects or periodic maintenance) for the purpose of ensuring successful completion and goal attainment.
9) Assists other personnel (e.g. troubleshooting software, hardware problems and user support) for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
10) Communicates changes in operating procedures and techniques to all personnel.
11) Responsible for running critical FA processes that support the district
 

Knowledge
* Computer applications development.
* Client-server technology and GUI environments.
* Proficient with integrated database technology, Excel and its use of pivot tables, and Access.
* Testing and evaluating processes in relation to new and existing software.
* Programming languages and protocols.
* Customer service techniques.

* Generating complex computer reports using a query language.

Technology Skills
* Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
* Use query and control languages, web technology, client-server technology, data extraction and reporting, troubleshooting enterprise software applications, testing new program releases and patches, and integrating data from external source, such as the Department of Education.

Required Work Experience
* Two years related work experience.

Required Education
* Associates Degree

Special Requirements
* Must not be on default of any federal/state student loans.

Physical Requirements
* Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$49,205 - $61,506
