JOB SUMMARY:
The Communicable Disease Division (CDD) Support department is seeking a professional to join the team as a Medical Program Assistant(MPA). This position's primary job function will be Data Entry of laboratory test orders, received electronically or by requisition, in Epic Systems Beaker. The position will also facilitate clinical specimen transport, deliver customer service, and perform clerical tasks like sorting, scanning, and filing records both physically and electronically. Skill and experience following policies/procedures, and using Microsoft Excel is required. Previous experience with Epic Systems software is preferred. Other tasks and projects as assigned. A typing/keyboard entry test will be required at interview. This position is on-site at 2601 Agriculture Drive, Madison, WI 53718.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs administrative duties to support providers, staff, services, and unit programs. May serve as the primary contact or customer service representative and subject matter expert. Tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects. Requires Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) knowledge or training.
80% Assists in coordinating the complex daily activities of providers or program(s) by entering information into databases, maintaining files and materials, and preparing reports
20% Performs administrative tasks including customer service, word processing, transcribing, filing and calendaring.

EDUCATION:
Preferred
Associate's Degree
Degree with focus on allied health, or computers is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow policies and standard operating procedures is required.
- Strong skills in typing/keyboard data entry is required.
- Skill and experience using Microsoft Excel is required.
- Previous experience using Epic Systems software is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills preferred.
- Strong skills and ability in customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge or previous clinical or public health laboratory experience preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday 7:45 am to 4:30 pm with occasionally weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

WORK TYPE:
Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

SALARY:
Minimum $21.00 HOURLY

The base hourly rate for this position is $21.00/hour. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
