Responsibilities
The Kinter laboratory in the Aging and Metabolism Research Program is seeking a Research Technician. The Kinter laboratory has two parts; a proteomics laboratory that helps other scientists use LC-MS in their experiments and an independent research program studying the effects of high fat diets on the heart.

The Research Technician will perform routine laboratory procedures according to our laboratory protocols, including but not limited to handling mice, maintaining cell cultures, isolating protein and RNA, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, and LC-mass spectrometry. They will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.


Qualifications
BA/BS degree typically in one of the biological sciences, physics, or chemistry or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Should be familiar with lab techniques. Individuals with all levels of experience will be considered. Basic knowledge of routine of laboratory techniques. Able to maintain a notebook and other laboratory records. Basic computer skills to include knowledge of internet software and Microsoft Office software. Comfortable learning new specialized software associated mass spectrometer operation and data analysis. Must be detail oriented and work with other lab members.
