Rider University invites applications for the Bursar.  Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Success and Student Financial Services, this individual will serve as principal Bursar and direct the overall operation of the Bursar’s office. 
 
Specifically, the individual will be responsible for:
 
  • providing direct supervision of accounts receivable staff including training;
  • overseeing all Bursar functions including management of Banner Student Billing System;
  • maintaining/updating rate changes and billing rules in system billing tables and set up refund tables;
  • serving as the primary point of contact for technical Banner issues;
  • collection and resolution of current accounts;
  • serving as the primary point person for the annual A133 audit; and
  • documenting and developing office procedure manual as it relates to Banner.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain/update rate changes and billing rules in system billing tables and set up refund tables.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills in a student-centered environment. 
  • Demonstrated time management, communication, and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to multitask. 
  • Proficient in systems – Word and Excel. 

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in collection. 
  • Knowledge of Banner is a plus
