Position Function
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors. The Indiana Academy is located on the campus of Ball State University. This is a full-time 10-month contract position for the academic year that is renewable based on satisfactory job performance. Additional summer work may be available pending funding availability. This position provides academic advising guidance and registration support to Indiana Academy students. This position also guides and provides support to Indiana Academy faculty advisors.
Minimum Education
Earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
One year of academic counseling experience in an educational setting.
Minimum Other
Commitment to equity-focused practices and evidence-based, data-informed approaches.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
One year of experience in registration and enrollment.
Preferred Other
Knowledge of Indiana Department of Education academic honors, diploma, and graduation pathway requirements.
Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check and education verification.

Ranking 1
Job Duty
Develop, coordinate, train and support Indiana Academy academic advisors.
Ranking 2
Job Duty
Support Indiana Academy students enrolling in Ball State University courses and Indiana academy dual credit courses.
Ranking 3
Job Duty
Perform transcript and credit checks to ensure all students are on track for graduation.
Ranking 4
Job Duty
Serve on the Academy Success Network and Student Services committee.
Ranking 5
Job Duty
Serve as the Academy’s 504 and IEP coordinator and collaborate with Director of Special Education
and Executive Director.

Job Duty
Provide students with large and small group academic counseling, study skills, and time management training.

Job Duty
Conduct incoming student application file review checks for applicable high school credits and grades.

Coordinate internship opportunities for students.
