--- Goddard Health Center, on the OU Norman campus, is looking for a Physician to join our healthcare team. The Health Center provides acute and continuing comprehensive individual health care for students, faculty, staff of the University of Oklahoma and their dependents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Conducts examinations, orders laboratory tests, determines diagnoses, prescribes treatment, and performs in-office minor surgical and other procedures.
- Analyzes historical and physical findings, test results, and medical records to diagnose patients.
- Administers or prescribes medications and other treatments. Discusses potential side effects of the medication or treatment with patient.
- Records complete and timely medical records.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
- Completes continuing medical education to maintain license and board certification and keeps up to date on standard of medical care.
- Supervises medical and administrative staff.
- Participates in meetings and quality activities.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
--- Required Education: Doctorate Degree
- 36 months medical experience. (Residency qualifies)
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff.
Certifications:
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma - Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License
- Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control (OBNDD) License
- Board Certification in an applicable specialty
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - BLS or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - ACLS
