Job Description
The Division of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation (SII) is seeking a customer service-oriented computer help desk consultant to provide direct support and issue resolution for a variety of operating systems and applications running on servers, desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and peripherals. In addition to hardware/software support, this position will also be responsible for supporting on and off-site technology needs for remote staff, conferences, seminars, training sessions and special events’ occasionally outside of University business hours. This includes some audio/visual support as well.
Qualifications
Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree is expected to be in Information Technology or related field.
Two (2) plus years of relevant experience in computer and desktop support.
Job Specific Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of PC and Mac software/configuration issues.
Proficiency with supporting current versions of Windows, MAC OS and mobile (iOS and Android) devices in a networked environment, to include remote help desk requests and troubleshooting.
Standard platform management methodologies, including systems imaging, remote administration, centralized directory services and policy-based systems management. Understanding of Microsoft’s Active Directory, Exchange, PowerShell and Office365 services.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting in maintaining technology across the Division of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation to include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting operating systems and applications on individual computers, servers, laptops, mobile and peripherals.
Provides support and assists in coordinating on and off-site technology needs for conferences, seminars, training sessions and special events.
Effectively documents issues in tracking system to facilitate resolution, user satisfaction, and knowledgebase history.
Provides technical and logistical support to staff and participants for various on-line learning platforms and systems.
Provides instruction to staff and students on campus computing requirements and best practices.
