Responsibilities

Reporting to the SEBA Dean, the Assistant Director, Professional Development & External Relations (ADPDER) is primarily responsible for fostering alumni relationships and engagement. The Assistant Director, Professional Development & External Relations is responsible for planning and implementing programs, events and services that enhance relationships between alumni, students, faculty, business, and the School of Economics and Business Administration. In addition the Assistant Director, Professional Development & External Relations will provide support for SEBA events and immersion programs.

Alumni Programming - Create and implement programs and events that will increase alumni engagement with SEBA: alumni related speaker events, social mixers, webinars, and volunteer events on and off-campus, with responsibility to include logistics, invitations and sponsors.

Maintain SMC graduate business groups within online alumni networking sites including LinkedIn and Facebook.

Engage alumni in designing and providing professional development and networking opportunities for graduate and undergraduate student events.

Help guide the graduate business alumni council; coordinate recruitment for all alumni events throughout the Bay Area; help seek and manage corporate event sponsors; generate new outreach ideas to engage alumni; work with central Alumni office to integrate SEBA undergraduate alumni.

Coordinate with College Alumni Engagement to create and maintain an alumni database for alumni communications, career connections, mentor recruitment, etc., and that allow for data-driven strategy development for alumni relations and engagement.
Alumni Communications - coordinate with marketing and communications to develop strategies that support relationship building and programming.

Develop programming that creates opportunities for SEBA alumni to continue accessing learning opportunities with SEBA faculty and the business community.

Provide planning and execution for SEBA events such as the Executive Speakers Series, case competitions etc.

Provide adminstrative and operational support for all inbound study tour certificate and immersion programs such as La Salle Barcelona study tour program.

Experience and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Bachelors Degree

Experience:
3-5 years of professional experience working in a coporate or professional setting. Able to represent SMC and SEBA in a highly professional manner to external constituents.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
This position requires the ability to develop and organize all alumni engagement to include: speaker, networking and volunteer events, as well as creating new programming opportunities. It requires strong communication skills (oral and written), strong proficiency in developing dynamic web content (writing articles, taking photos and videos), event planning and management skills, and the ability to positively and professionally represent Saint Marys College to the public at large. Able to work independently and as a member of a team; high level of initiative; outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines; strong proficiency in using Windows operating systems, MS Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint).

Other Requirements: Weeknight evening hours (alumni events) and minimal weekend hours are required. Travel to various alumni events (weekday) in the Bay Area is also required.
