The College of Professional and Continuing Studies is pleased to announce our search for a Senior Program Manager.

The Senior Program Coordinator's primary role involves working with team to help lead Economic Development Institute (EDI), the first and still premiere economic development professionals certification program in the country. EDI includes twice annual six-day off-site training events, as well as online courses which can be mixed in to varying degrees.  The role involves advising current and future participants, on-site logistics and contracting (facility, instructors), some marketing duties, and future event site selection.   This role also involves full leadership of 2-3 small (70 participants) annual training events for established programs -- Corrosion Control Course, Gas Compressor Short Course, and Blowout Prevention School.  This includes: contracting with facility, trainer logistics, registration.

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 48 months of related experience

Equivalent/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to equal 96 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Able to communicate clearly with a diverse group of stakeholders, via phone, online, and in-person.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Able to effectively evaluate projects and programs and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sits for prolonged periods.
  • Communicate effectively including the ability to see, hear, and speak.
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Standard office environment. 
  • Position requires some travel including two annual trips of 6 days each and one trip of 3 days. 

Departmental Preferences:

  • 5+ years' experience in accounting, business, program management, or related experience.

Supervision: 

  • This position helps supervise one student employee.
