Upward Bound Program - Tutor (Hourly)

Job Description Summary:

To provide temporary academic assistance to underserved students attending the newly refunded grant Reaching The Dream Eastside Memorial, LBJ, and Northeast Early College High School. It also serves Reaching The Dream Navarro and Travis Early College High School. In addition, this position provides virtual and, on occasion, face-to-face tutoring for 120 program participants.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works up to 12 hours per week

  • Group/Virtual Tutoring 

  • Document & track areas of student academic improvement

  • Submitting Reports of Student Progress

  • Tutors students according to set priorities and academic goals.

  • Assists students on a one-on-one or group basis in the subject discipline and study skills.

  • Organizes supplemental learning materials.

  • Provides feedback on student progress.

  • Maintains up-to-date records of tutoring contacts and other records.

  • May assist in Saturday Session activities as needed

  • Assists with additional summer program duties as assigned, including clerical assistance, program organization, field trips, etc.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Pay Rate

$15.60/Hour
