This position recruit’s new students for the College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) degree and certificate programs to meet enrollment goals. Primary responsibilities include representing the College to prospective students and the public with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities. This position also has overall responsibility for the recruitment efforts of incoming students seeking Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at CSN. This position will educate students on industry needs and disseminate information about all CTE programs available at CSN.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license.
1 year in career and technical education programming or recruiting or admissions related role at the college or university level.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Community college experience.
Skilled using CRM systems (Campus Management preferred).
Geographical knowledge of the greater Las Vegas community.
The duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Higher education organizational structures, operations, and policies.
Higher education recruitment strategies (i.e., marketing).
Higher education rules and regulations relating to admissions, FERPA, enrollment requirements and progress.
The content of college curricula to effectively facilitate recruitment.
Higher education and recruitment strategies.
A strong sense of organization and time management.
Must be approachable, personable, and articulate with excellent writing, interpersonal and public speaking skills, and able to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff.
Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Proficiency in CRM systems.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Understand and interpret formalized policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Work productively without direct and constant supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.
Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
Able to develop, implement and present workshops pertaining to college admissions and enrollment.
Exhibit excellent critical-thinking skills through a demonstrated ability to interpret and evaluate explanations of problems of sensitive and complex nature, analyzing and defining uses obtained explicitly and implicitly from students, faculty, and staff.
Exhibit sensitivity to an understanding of at-risk, and disadvantaged students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds typical of community college students.
Possess strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and demonstrated ability as a self-started planning and carrying out short-term and long-term action plans.
Direct academic advising and/or coaching experience in a community college setting.
Demonstrate understanding of the purpose and function of community colleges.
Geographical knowledge of the greater Las Vegas community.
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft as it pertains to Admissions, Student Services, Communications, and related duties.
Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty B
The minimum starting salary is $45,636. The successful candidate may be placed above the minimum based on education and experience.
