JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Educational Psychology is seeking an energetic team-focused candidate to provide support to the students, faculty and staff in our department. This full-time position under the general supervision of the Department Administrator will address administrative tasks related to the department's overall program needs. These tasks include general administrative duties, enrollment needs, including course authorizations, working with Guide content, programmatic changes in Lumen, setting up AEFIS reports, and marketing and communication needs.

The Department of Educational Psychology develops and applies cutting-edge scientific knowledge concerning: the psychological and social processes that underlie learning; the design of effective instruction; the factors affecting the mental health of learners of all ages; and the methodological tools required to generate this knowledge. The department is consistently ranked as one of the nation's best graduate programs in this field.

1. Provide support to students and faculty with enrollment authorizations following university and department policies and procedures
2. Create and manage the AEFIS evaluation process for the Department
3. Assist the Director of Graduate Studies with updates to UW Madison's Guide materials and Lumen proposals
4. Develop, prepare, execute communication and marketing strategies related to website management, marketing job talks and presentations, newsletter development, and collecting alumni information.
5. General administrative tasks including working with campus departments for requests, in-person, telephone and email communication, supporting program areas, copying, filing, records retention, event assistance and other tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides administrative support for a department, group of professionals, or to the manager of a work group consisting of professional staff and subordinate supervisors in support of unit goals, under general supervision
10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
25% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
10% Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
5% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
30% Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
20% Develops and prepares communication and marketing strategies related to website management, marketing job talks and presentations, newsletter development, alumni information

EDUCATION:
Required
H.S. Diploma

Preferred
Associate's Degree

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, G-Suite and general computer experience required; Minimum of two years of experience working in an office setting providing high level administrative support. Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with students, faculty, and staff and build relationships/partnerships within the department, school and campus.

Preferred: Experience developing communication and marketing pieces using WordPress or similar web-based technology. Experience with business-related social media platforms.
