Aquatics Group Fitness Instructor
Teaches aquatic group fitness courses. Enforces all policies and regulations; and participates in regular in-service trainingUses a variety of teaching and motivational techniques, this position will create a positive aquatic exercise experience. This position is a professional who teaches, leads, and motivates groups through intentionally designed aquatic exercise classes. They plan effective, exercise science-based group sessions for different fitness levels, they also possess a wealth of motivational and leadership techniques that help their classes achieve fitness goals. Instructors know the human body, the science of exercise and how to inspire, challenge and motivate change in the lives of the people they lead. May work 19 hours per week or less.

Job Requirements

Skills:

  • Must be able to train all ages and special populations

  • Must be able to swim and be comfortable in shallow and deep water

  • Must be comfortable teaching and responding to questions 

  • Must be able to respond in an emergency at any time.

Certifications:

  • Nationally recognized and accredited aquatic certification preferred

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to swim

  • Must be able to lift no less than 30 pounds
