Summary

Dr. Xi Chen's lab studies the function and mechanism of Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) protein quality control machinery in cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance. Research will focus on specializing in ER stress, Unfolded Protein Response (UPR), biochemistry, transgenic and preclinical animal models, cancer biology and immunology.

Job Duties

  • Follows established procedures in performing routine duties which may require some decision-making.
    • Student must know mechanics and methods of a specific position by having previous training or work experience.
  • Types routine assays.
  • Prepares media and solutions for general lab experiments.
  • Assists senior lab postdocs, junior faculty by preparing samples for them to complete general lab experiments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Individual should at least be a high school graduate or freshman in college that has an interest in basic sciences.
