Broward College currently has an exciting job opportunity available for a Senior Executive Assistant reporting to the Vice President of Talent and Culture. The position requires a mission driven, value-based individual with the desire to be the best at their craft.

The Senior Executive Assistant to the Vice President, Talent and Culture plays an essential role in the department’s success. Under limited supervision the Senior Executive Assistant leads a diverse range of support activities for the department, which requires comprehensive administrative, organizational, and operational skills.

This role requires a sharp, experienced executive assistant who enjoys solving complex problems and is motivated by flawless execution, and who excels in behind-the-scenes supporting roles. The individual must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate is poised, professional, and enjoys working in a fast-paced high energy environment.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.  

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Seven years of general administrative support, office, or related experience required. Three years must be at the executive/office management level.
  • Two years of supervisory or lead experience required.
  • Experience in human resources and/or a higher education setting preferred. 

Essential Functions:

In Talent and Culture, we take pride in creating an employee first culture while providing white glove, best-in-class service to our stakeholders.

  • Train and coordinate work of part-time office support staff, student employees, and/or temporary staff. Requires office management and supervisory skills.
  • Strong ability to design effective presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint and/or other presentation software.
  • Compose and/or assist in the development of manuals, annual reports, and/or similar documents.
  • Assists the Talent and Culture department with the coordination of college-wide annual events including, but not limited to the end of year celebration, employee recognition, and 5K runs.

  • Monitors and orders inventory, selects vendors, and authorizes purchases. Responsible for staying within budget and following budgetary guidelines; participates in the planning of budgets.

  • Schedules complex appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements working with multiple calendars and constituents; attends meetings; records, interprets, and distributes minutes from said meetings. 

  • Performs other related duties as required

  • Ability to recognize needs of unit and how it impacts other areas within the department and throughout the College
  • Advanced and varied computer software skills required. Able to identify and learn new programs and software skills as necessary. Easily negotiates Internet and can perform more complex searches
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent Talent and Culture throughout the College community
