The Forum seeks a part-time administrative specialist to manage day-to-day operations. The specialist reports to the
Faculty Director, and assists with all aspects of Forum programming. This position is in-person (office space provided at
the Forum) with flexible schedule (20/hrs week).

Duties:

  • Clerical duties in coordination with Shared Business Services.
  • Schedule meetings, presentations, seminars, trainings. Maintain the Director’s calendar.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating in-person and virtual events for the Arts & Humanities Forum.
  • Assist in managing logistics for the yearly grant cycle.
  • Maintain the Forum’s digital presence.
  • Assist in managing the Forum’s institutional relationships.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND:

  •  36 months administrative support experience

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of office procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer and calculator.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organization skills, familiarity with social media, content management for the website, office software (Microsoft Teams)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for prolonged periods.
  • Communicate effectively and listens.
  • Engages in repetitive motion.
  • Stand, reach, stoop, and bend.

Department Preferences:

  • Graphic design experience
  • Familiarity with podcasting, public humanities experience
