Job Description

The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will provide professional administrative support to the Asst. Dean of Diversity, Inclusion and Social Justice and Asst. Dean of Residency Education. This position will be a 50 percent effort in both office of diversity and inclusion and Office of residency education irrespective of the physical location. Responsibilities include: Perform the daily administrative support functions of the Asst. Deans’ offices, including organizing, coordinating, scheduling calendars, events, conferences, and all other logistical needs. Purchase necessary office and events’ supplies. Interact with school faculty, staff, students, and residents as the welcoming face of the Asst. Deans’ offices. Will be the organizational connection to all the residency departments and office of residency education performing activities including but not limited to assisting the current graduate programs administrator with admissions, graduation, curriculum, and social activities related to residency programs.


Baccalaureate degree is preferred. In lieu of degree will accept years of experience in accordance with university guidelines. Consideration will be given to individuals possessing an Associate degree with at least five years of substantive and progressive administrative experience in a university and/or dental related setting. Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office inclusive of MS-Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat Professional, and related software is required. Must be computer literate and able to learn new software and programs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PRISM, Panther buy, and Canvas is essential.
