The Assistant Dean of Alumni Engagement will hold an active senior leadership role within the College of Law.  This position will assist and provide support for Foundation partners with any projects involving development cycle, i.e. annual giving, major gifts, fundraising activities, stewardship of existing donors and identifying new prospects. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Representing the College of Law within the University and at external functions, meetings, and events, particularly those with significant alumni attendance or involvement or that support law school recruitment, outreach, and funding
  • Broadening our alumni base (currently contains approximately 10,000 alumni) and engaging strategies through which to engage them substantively, including work with the Board of Visitors, the Young Alumni Board, and the Diversity Council
  • Assistance with Career Services and associated mentoring activities connecting students to alumni
  • Assisting with law school direction and strategy in partnership with College of Law leadership, including direct supervision of Office of Marketing, Communications and Events
  • Assist the Office of Student Engagement and IT Department with development and implementation of new platform to facilitate direct student to alumni and alumni-alumni outreach and interaction
  • Oversight of all College of Law print, video, and social media content in partnership with the Director of Communication and Events and team
  • Assistance with community outreach, including speeches and presentations,
  • Overseeing public relations matters for the College of Law
  • The possibility of teaching 1 or 2 courses per academic year, as meets institutional needs and goals
  • Periodically assessing higher education legal issues within the College of Law
  • Assisting with administrative personnel and budgets
  • Connecting students and faculty with alumni in Oklahoma and around the country
  • Assisting with moot court, mock trial, and associated teams through, e.g., judging or possibly coaching
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Juris Doctorate  AND:

  • 24 months of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills through all outreach methods
  • Strong organizational strength with the ability to work with and motivate internal and external partners ability to work both within a team environment and independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work some nights and weekends, as required.  
  • Ability to recognize opportunities and identify/prioritize critical activities.  

Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license required for special events.

 

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions, grasp objects with fingers or hands, and communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
