Responsibilities
The Bieniasz Lab is looking for a Research Technician that is highly motivated with high focus on professional growth and career advancement. The Research Technician will contribute to projects exploring the mechanisms of ovarian cancer progression, metastasis and chemotherapy resistance. We are investigating various aspects of ovarian cancer development, progression and response to innovative therapies. To study ovarian cancer, we use in vitro mouse and human ovarian cancer cell lines and in vivo mouse models such as genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs) and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models of ovarian cancer. The Research Technician will be responsible for performing a wide variety of projects including:

• in vitro cell culture
• mouse colony management
• maintaining cell lines and tumor tissues
• mouse procedures and surgeries
• advanced tumor monitoring and imaging
• preclinical drug efficacy studies
• in vivo data management and analysis
• performing various biochemical and molecular assays

Seeking individuals who will manage and conduct research projects and present scientific/technical information both formally and informally. The Research Technician position is eligible for career advancement if performance goals are met.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Should be familiar with lab techniques. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be organized, follow detailed experimental protocols, keep meticulous records, and meet all deadlines. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required. Must have ability to multitask, effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisor.
