Job Description

Manager Infection Prevention and Control

 

The Infection Prevention Manager, in conjunction with the Director, develops and implements

facility-wide infection prevention and control measures to protect patients, staff and visitors.

Monitors patient care for compliance with established policies and procedures and investigates

known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source, method for

prevention and establish control; ensures compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission

standards relating to infection control.

 

Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Master's Degree – Nursing Public health, epidemiology, medical technology (Preferred) 
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing Public health, epidemiology, medical technology (Required)

Licensure:

  • RN License – (Required)
  • BLS – (Preferred)
  • Certification in Infection Control

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 5 years experience in infection prevention & control in an acute healthcare environment
  • Computer proficiency in outlook, word, PowerPoint and excel required; excellent oral and written communication skills; critical thinking skills; strong working knowledge of NHSN surveillance definitions and system application
  • Experience in oncology infection prevention
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
