Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for directing and overseeing the Broward UP (Unlimited Potential) Connecting Minority Communities (CMC) grant. This includes identifying and recruiting CMC employees, planning and facilitating employee and student trainings, supervising members, evaluating mentors, and promoting outreach events in support of the Broward UP program. Additionally, this position is developing all reports and submit on a timely basis, ensure the expenditures are used on allowable costs, work in coordination with the departments across the College to implement the grant work plan. Regular travel will be required throughout the college and tri-county area.

This is a temporary, grant-based position with a chance of renewal based on sustainability of the program. The incumbent is subject to annual performance evaluations and contract renewal.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Six years of experience working with students and community partners, preferably in a comprehensive post-secondary higher education setting. 
  • Three years of management or leadership experience required.  Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with project management required, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in program evaluation and data collection, grant experience preferred.
  • Experience with community-based projects and local school systems preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 30%: Responsible for directing and overseeing the Broward UP (Unlimited Potential) Connecting Minority Communities (CMC) grant. This includes identifying and recruiting CMC employees, planning and facilitating employee and facilitating member trainings, supervising members, evaluating mentors, and promoting outreach events in support of the Broward UP program. Develops all reports and ensures submission by deadlines, ensure the expenditures are used on allowable costs, work in coordination with the departments across the College to implement the grant work plan.
  • Other (As Needed) - 30%: Provides overall management of the Connecting Minority Communities information technology program. Works closely with other departments to ensure support and information for the continuation of BrowardUP. Prepares reports, documentation, and related materials to inform Broward College leadership and grant funder on project progress at regular intervals, both in written and oral communication forms.
  • Other (As Needed) - 30%: Collaborates with various Broward College departments to ensure student participants have full access to programs, services, and facilities. Oversees and manages evaluation tools and strategies for gathering and analyzing data.   Works closely with the BC grant office to monitor grant expenditures to ensure appropriate allocation of funding. Communicates and collaborates across Broward College pathways, providing resources to academic leadership and faculty to facilitate academic success and equity   for Broward UP students. Presentations to larger groups will be necessary.
  • Other (As Needed) - 10%: Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable state and federal Legislation pertaining to accessibility with individuals with disabilities.
