Description of Work Unit
The School of Music, Theatre and Dance (SMTD) has 36 tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as 40 adjunct faculty. There are currently over 550 students in SMTD, with 311 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in music degree programs.

The University Center for the Arts is a nationally recognized state-of the art 350,000 square foot facility, that includes a 550-seat concert hall, a 275-seat organ and chamber music recital hall, a 320-seat thrust theatre, a 100-seat black box theatre, a 200-seat dance theatre, dedicated rehearsal, production, and research spaces, along with classrooms, labs, and practice rooms.Colorado State University (CSU) is a land grant institution with a student enrollment of approximately 30,000 students in over 150 programs, and a faculty numbering 1,700. Position Summary
This salaried, full-time continuing faculty position provides collaborative piano support to Instrumental and Vocal majors in CSU’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. Pianists would be required to perform with students for studio classes, master classes, performances, competitions, and juries. Some evening or weekend work will be necessary.
DESIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
Have experience with traditional and contemporary vocal and/or instrumental repertoire
Ability to sight-read and/or learn quickly
Have an awareness of stylistic concerns throughout the vocal and/or instrumental repertoire
Guide musical decisions through references to musical devices, such as phrase, pitch, register, etc.
Communicate with faculty, supervisors, staff, and students
Coordinate schedule daily and weekly throughout the semester
Teach group keyboard courses as assigned.
All candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Job Qualifications
Masters in Music in Collaborative Piano OR Masters in Music in Piano Performance with 2 years accompanying experience.
Documented college teaching experience within collaborative piano and classroom teaching.
Evidence of excellence in piano performance artistry and the potential for continued advancement as a performer or scholar.
