Overview
The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences at Utah State University (Logan campus) is seeking a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow. The successful candidate must show commitment to teaching undergraduate courses in linguistics and demonstrate expertise in one or more areas in linguistics. This is a one-year position with a possibility of renewal or applying for a tenure-track position in subsequent years (based on budgetary approval).

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, and are not limited to:

Teaching a variety of courses in general and applied linguistics (3 & 3 course load);
Service for the department, college, and university;
Mentoring students inside and outside regular teaching hours.
Possible courses to teach include: Languages in Global and Historical Context, Language in Social Context, and Languages & Religions. These can be adapted based on the applicant’s interests and expertise. Linguistics minor program webpage is available here.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in linguistics, applied or theoretical linguistics, or a related field conferred within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with teaching undergraduate linguistics courses and ability to develop new, interesting courses for students of linguistics.
Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
Commitment and experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
