The Facilities & Services Department at South Dakota State University is seeking a Project Manager to join our project management and engineering team. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing campus construction projects. In this role, you will work with other project managers, architects, engineers and trade staff on a wide variety of construction and renovation projects of all sizes. You will work with a diverse set of stake-holders across campus, ensuring projects meet the intended programs and provide safe and comfortable facilities for our students, faculty, staff and visitors to SDSU. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12 month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

Facilities and Services is proud to care for campus, maintaining and improving the grounds, buildings and extended facilities of the SDSU campus. We have staff trained in every principal trade required for facilities maintenance, repair, alteration, construction or service. These employees can respond to urgent or specialized needs and provide continuity of basic maintenance and repair programs. They also offer a timely and flexible response to renovation projects of moderate or limited scope.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for planning, designing and project management of construction and renovation projects and campus land development; contributing and assisting in the management of maintenance, alterations and repair services for campus buildings, streets, parking lot facilities, and utilities systems to meet campus clients’ needs and therefore to support and assist in teaching and research programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field completed by start date;
At least one year of experience in project management;
Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
Demonstrated effective customer service skills;
Organized, detailed, and results oriented;
Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire;
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position; and
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make good decisions based on the best interests of the campus community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least three years of experience in managing new construction or remodel and renovation projects.
