JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Global Environmental History for the 2023-2024 academic year, beginning in August 2023. We invite scholars working in any region of the world and deploying transregional, international, comparative, and/or global perspectives and methods. We are particularly interested in scholars with a demonstrated records of teaching who can contribute to the department’s existing thematic strengths in race and
ethnicity; gender, sexuality, and women’s studies; and histories of science, technology, and medicine.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Job responsibilities will include:

Teaching 6 courses and 2 capstone inquiry seminars in History and International and Global Studies.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in History is preferred; terminal degree in a relevant field considered.
A track record of successful classroom teaching at the university level.
The ability to work creatively and collaboratively across disciplines with faculty, staff, and students of various experience levels.
