Job Description
Teaching in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs. Responsibilities may include classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching. Integration of technology into the teaching and learning process is expected. Student advisement and remediation support. Participation in faculty scholarship. Program evaluation and advancement. Participation in University and Division of Nursing professional activities and community service.

To teach in the undergraduate program, applicants must possess a Master’s degree in nursing and current clinical experience. To teach in the Graduate program, applicants must possess an earaned Doctorate in nursing or a related field and a Master’s degree in Nursing. Previous teaching experience and record of scholarly accomplishments preferred. Certification in a specialty area is preferred (including but not limited to) Family Primary Care NP, Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, and Women’s Health. Must possess unencumbered tennessee RN license at the time of initial appointment.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in Nursing is required Doctoral degree in nursing or highly related field required for graduate teaching and preferred for undergraduate teaching. Must possess unencumbered Tennessee RN license at the time of initial appointment. Current clinical experience is required. A record of scholarly accomplishment is preferred. Prior teaching experience and certification is preferred. Certification is required for selected graduate faculty positions.
