The School of Art invites applications for a non-tenure‐track Assistant Teaching Professor position of Art History beginning August 2023.

Responsibilities include teaching sections of a global survey, a writing/research course, and additional courses that complement the art history faculty’s current offerings in Asian, American, modern, and contemporary art.

Position Function:
• Responsibilities include teaching sections of a global survey of art history, a writing and research course for undergraduates, and additional courses that complement the art history faculty’s current offerings in Asian, American, modern, and contemporary art. Course development support and mentoring will be offered.
• The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the department, advise students, serve on committees, and participate in the broader university and disciplinary communities.
• Other teaching duties based on programmatic need and the expertise of the faculty hired individual may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: ABD in art history from an accredited college or university program and at least one semester of teaching experience at the college level.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: PhD in art history from an accredited college or university program and at least one year of teaching experience at the college level.

Pay range minimum for this position: $50,000
