Job Description
Develops instructional material related to area assigned (clinical lab plan, student handouts, bibliographies, etc.) Selects and implements learning experiences for assigned students. Participates in academic advisement activities. Initiates and/or participates in research activities. Participates in faculty development activities. Shares responsibilities for peer review. Assists with student extracurricular activities. Participates in tutoring activities. Assists in the Learning Resource Lab in the assigned course. Participates in the preparation of all tests in the assigned course. Participates in total program evaluation. Acts as resource person for specific area of expertise as needed. Develops clinical instruction plans as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
To teach in the undergraduate program, applicants must possess a master’s degree in nursing and current clinical experience. To teach in the Graduate program, applicants must possess an earned Doctorate in nursing or a related field and a master’s degree in Nursing. Previous teaching experience and record of scholarly accomplishments preferred. Certification in a specialty area is preferred (including but not limited to) Family Primary Care NP, Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, and Women’s Health. Must possess unencumbered Tennessee RN license at the time of initial appointment.
