Position Summary:
CHD welcomes applicants with extensive work experience and references as equivalent to traditional degree requirements. The UAA Center for Human Development is looking for a dynamic Informational Systems Professional to assist in providing a technical, professional and plain language approach to support and lead a Technology team responsible for working with University non-credit registration and learning management system with a focus on accessibility, and serving non-traditional, distance-based learners including individuals with disabilities and/or their supports.
Duties:
Maintain technical currency in technology hardware and software in line with University standards and programmatic needs.Serve as a technology advisor for program staff.Supervise a unit or work group. Develop annual employee work plans in collaboration with CHD Training Director; coordinate staff and program training. Recommend hiring, evaluate performance, provide staff feedback, and initiate corrective action when necessary.Collaborate with CHD Technology Director to analyze, document, install, develop and maintain software as needed for programmatic supports and mission. This includes testing and implementation of technology and systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of information technologies including hardware and software integration.
Knowledge of relevant functional area(s) (e.g. analyze, document, install, develop and maintain software as needed for programmatic supports and mission, and programming).
Ability to analyze a routine situation and formulate problem resolutions.
Knowledge of multiple systems and ability to understand how systems relate to one another specifically in regards to non-credit registration and learning management systems.
Knowledge of, and ability to combine inter-relationships between disparate problems and formulate solutions for testing and potential implementation.
Ability to analyze unusual, nonroutine or complex situations and problems and devise alternate strategies for solutions for testing and potential implementation.
Advanced knowledge of non-credit registration and learning management systems including the connected university applications (i.e. payment and reporting systems).
Ability to understand needs of end users with a focus on accessibility and serving non-traditional, distance-based learners including individuals with disabilities and/or their supports.
Ability to deliver results for CHD and its programs.
Ability to guide and mentor a diverse population of peers/staff on tasks related to their area of expertise with a focus on accessibility and serving non-traditional, distance-based learners including individuals with disabilities and/or their supports.
Ability to produce, review, and remediate written and digital content from a technical, professional, and plain-language communication approach.
Experience working with non-credit registration systems, learning management systems, and standard applications within the managed university environment (e.g. Blackboard/Canvas/Moodle, Genius, Goggle Productivity Suite, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, etc.). Blackboard LMS and Genius registration experience preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology, Education or other related field) and 3 years progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year minimum experience in a supervisory role.
