Job Description

Summary

We are looking for highly motivated candidates to join a team of physician scientists, scientists, postdoctoral fellows, technicians and graduate students to support research on cancer immunotherapy using CAR T cells. The Research Technician III will provide responsible technical assistance in support of research projects by completing assignments requiring a basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to basic and translational research in cellular immunotherapy of cancer. Will work under supervision in accordance with general plans approved by the principal investigator.

Job Duties

  • Perform research experiments to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations
  • Record and summarize research data generated from experiments
  • Coordinate ordering, shipping and receiving of research materials
  • Aseptic cell culture for production, maintenance and propagation of tumor lines and CAR T cells
  • Genetic engineering techniques like PCR, cloning, retroviral transduction and library preparations
  • Flow cytometry alongside immunological assays including multiplex assays, ELISA, ELISPOT and Western blotting
  • Work with small rodent models of cancer
  • Immunohistochemistry and associated image analysis
  • Use of office suite, instrument interface and other software for data collation and analysis
  • Assist in testing of research samples and administrative tasks involved in conduct of clinical trial
  • Perform research experiments to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations in cell and gene therapy applications under the supervision of principal investigator
  • Record and summarize research data generated from experiments, prepare figures and analyze for presentations and publications
  • Coordinate ordering, shipping and receiving of research materials 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience  working in research laboratory
  • Experience working with tissue culture, T cells, animals models, retroviral/lentiviral transduction, phage library maintenance
