Summary

The Research Technician II will assist the PI and laboratory personnel with mouse husbandry, experimental procedures, and be in charge of maintaining laboratory records and ordering supplies. Will conduct experiments in the laboratory setting under the supervision of the PI and laboratory members. Duties include performing experiments, collecting data, maintaining records, and ordering supplies, as well as general laboratory maintenance.

Job Duties

  • Assist the PI and laboratory members with day-to-day operations in the laboratory and for the mouse studies described in grant
  • Mouse colony maintenance (breeding, weaning, ear punches)
  • Order supplies and lab organization
  • Assist PI and other lab members with experiments (genomic DNA prep, PCR genotyping, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, histology, and immunoblotting)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of basic science research experience
  • Experience in animal models and some laboratory experience is preferred but not required
  • Must work well with others and have good organizational skills, including communication with outside vendors
