Salary Range: $28,710 - $38,830 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm 

Employment Duration: Full-time 

FLSA Status: Nonexempt 

Summary

The laboratory of Dr. Matthew McGinley in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a Research Technician II position. The McGinley lab studies the neural circuit basis of flexible shifts in performance in sensory-guided behavioral tasks.

Job Duties

  • Conducts research experiments, including auditory decision-making behaviors.
  • Performs technical laboratory procedures that includes:
    • Rodent surgeries with aseptic techniques.
    • Autoclaving surgical instruments.
  • Collects and analyzes data and maintains records.
  • Enters data into research database.
  • Cleans equipment such as surgical equipment, microscope parts, and cleans surgical area.
  • Assists with preparing laboratory reports, progress reports for grants, etc.
  • Operates laboratory equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.
