JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Business Data Analyst manages the Graduate Medical Education (GME) cost report for the UT teaching hospitals. This position will manage the CMS IRIS module, CMS hospital audits, billing reports, and training to Program Directors and Coordinators on billing compliance.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the compliance reports for program; audits billing reports, generates and analyzes error report for demographic compliance, makes corrections to the assignment scheduler, and generates monthly test runs.
Develops best practices for training program billing, programs the IRIS data into each rotation, and monitors any rotation changes during the year.
Prepares and provides data for the submission of the GME portion of the federal cost report.
Develops and provides training to program director and coordinators regarding rotations, billing, and IRIS compliance.
Oversees the compensation status (pay rates and PGY levels) for the IRIS report and resident contracts modules.
Generates official IRIS report upon hospital request and assists hospital with documentation for auditing purposes.
Analyzes all datasets to identify schedule gaps, develops, and provides corrective action plan for program directions.
Assist financial analyst with reviewing billing schedules from Program Managers.
Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. (Master’s Degree is preferred). (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years’ experience with accreditation or database management in a higher education or medical institution.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITIES

Proficiency in various computer software applications including web-based systems, database, spreadsheet, and office management systems (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to research, analyze, and solve problems.
Ability to perform data analysis.


WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
