Clinical Records Manager

 

Position Information:

Under general administrative direction, oversees the medical records program and supervises clerical and records employees.

Representative Duties:

·       Prepares job performance criteria for Medical Records personnel and evaluates and/or supervises evaluation of performance of employees periodically. Approves/denies requests for leave of Medical Records personnel.

·       Advises and assists professionals and clerical staff in development of new forms and reporting methods for continual improvement of chart quality and professional needs and to also meet Medical regulation and third party payer requirements.

·       Performs related work as required.

·       Oversee daily functions of Medical Records Department including supervision of 10 staff.

·       QA reviews to ensure accuracy of work performed.

·       Report, review and recommend suspensions of EMR users with incomplete documentation.

·       Training of all new staff in scanning/indexing, electronic fax system, release of information.

·       Policy development and implementation with guidance/collaboration with Tulsa HIPAA contact and legal.

 

Job Requirements

Working Conditions:

 

Environmental: Standard office environment.

 

Experience:

·       24 months experience in medical record maintenance to include 12 months lead or supervisory experience.

 

Education:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or closely related field.

 

Certifications or Licenses:

·       Preferred: Registered Health Information Administrator/Technician (RHIA/RHIT) certification.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office

·       Understanding of Medical Terminology

·       Ability to analyze and interpret data
