The Financial Aid Scholarship Specialist position is responsible for assisting in the management of Financial Aid, Recruitment Services and Special Projects scholarships. This position also collaborates with colleges and departments on campus to ensure effective management of college and department level scholarships.

***This position will be located in Norman with a flexible and/or remote option possible for experienced candidates after required training period and is eligible to participate in our Launch Advancement Program and receive up to $7,500 upon completion. ***

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 24 months financial aid general office, clerical, or related experience.
Skills:
  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Customer service
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations and processes

Certifications:

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods. 
  • Communicate effectively and listen.
  • Uses a computer and telephone. 

Departmental Preferences:

  • Bachelors Degree and 18-36 months experience in Financial Aid/Scholarships
  • Experience in University Processes and Communications

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
