OU Health Services is the ambulatory care facility on the Norman campus providing primary care services to students, faculty, staff, and dependents of all ages.  We provide in-house medical laboratory and x-ray services, have a physical therapy department, and a full-service pharmacy.

POSITION INFORMATION: Assists physical therapists in the daily operation of the clinic. Helps create home exercise programs. Creates, organizes, and scans medical charts. Updates patient referrals. Creates patient schedules. Assists with exercises and modalities. Maintains Physical Therapy supply/bracing inventory. Supervises student assistants. Maintains order and cleanliness of the Physical Therapy clinic and does laundry.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Assists physical therapists in daily operation of clinic.
  • Helps create home exercise programs.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of office.
  • Scans medical charts.
  • Creates patient schedules.
  • Updates patient referrals.
  • Creates and organizes patient charts.
  • Performs and records patient information in Electronic Medical Record.
  • Maintains physical therapy supply/bracing inventory.
  • Supervises student assistants.
  • Creates student work schedules.
  • Assists with exercises and modalities.
  • Manages requested time off.
  • Cleans equipment and does laundry.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED, AND:

  •  12 months physical therapy aide or healthcare-related experience.

Skills:

  • Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be schedule oriented, able to work under time constraints, and complete work within deadlines.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and able to maintain positive and professional relationships with co-workers.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of computers.
  • Must have ability to problem solve.

Certifications:

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • May be required to lift, bend, stoop, and carry.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure/stress caused by busy periods and deadlines.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Two years college/Associate Degree
  • Current BLS certification
  • Electronic Medical Records experience
  • Courses taken in Anatomy/Physiology
  • Direct patient care
  • Customer Service Experience
