Responsibilities*
Data preprocessing, data wrangling to transform raw data into more readily useable formats for analysis, data QC and organization.
Data visualization
Data analysis using off-the-shelf analysis tools, such as those available using the R or Python programming languages
Bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing and other -omics data using off-the-shelf, existing analytic pipelines (e.g., DNA sequencing data, RNAseq data)
Written documentation of daily work, in an electronic “lab notebook”-style format, as well as using other electronic resources such as GitHub
Required Qualifications*
Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related field
Experience in data wrangling to transform raw data into a form suitable for data analyses
Strong computer programming and data analysis skills in Python, with experience in using Python for biomedical/bioinformatics applications, use of SQL for database access Experience with using the R programming language for data analysis and visualization
Experience in bioinformatics, including with analysis of next generation sequencing data
Training in basic machine learning techniques
Background Screening
