Job ID: 258612Position # 40030803 The College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at Augusta University (AU) seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Educational Foundations, Curriculum Studies, or Research. The focus of this position is teaching, scholarship, and service. The selected candidate will teach a 4/4 course load and will be expected to develop and update curriculum, adopt and implement common course objectives, and participate in assessment of student learning outcomes. This position is considered a non-tenure track.

Responsibilities
Teaching - 80%
Instruction of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.Manage courses through systematic use of syllabi.Keep accurate records of students' class performance, attendance, and grades. Scholarship - 10%
Assist with student advisement. Service - 10%Providing service to the department, college, university, community and profession.

Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Educational Foundations or Curriculum Studies or a related field from an accredited program. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member. Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Prior P-12 and /or college teaching experience.Experience in online teaching.

    Shift/Salary/Benefits
    This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
