Position Description
This project aims to decipher the molecular logic that underpins our sense of smell. Our goal is to develop high-throughput sequencing approaches to identify which odors activate which odorant receptors, and to develop approaches to monitor and manipulate how the nose develops.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out molecular experiments and research according to protocols given by lab members.
  • Handle and maintain animal colonies.
  • Find and test relevant protocols from primary literature.
  • Analyze data and present results at lab meetings and during one-on-one meetings with the PI.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
Basic Qualifications
  • College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline, Previous laboratory experience. 1+ years of experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Previous laboratory experience 6 months to 1 year preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting experiments.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Collaboration skills to work alongside others in the lab.
  • Technical skills to set up equipment and use laboratory instruments.
  • Passion for science and basic research.
  • Excellent organization skills to record experiments/work/results in lab notebook.
  • Collaboration skills to work with other people in the lab.
  • Technical skills to set up equipment and use laboratory instruments.
Additional Information
This is a 12-month term appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.

This is an in-person position based on our campus in Boston. 

Offer contingent upon successful completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation.
