The Director teaches courses as well as develops and manages various Center programs. Administrative duties involve:
1) Center, Program, and Advisory Board Leadership;
2) Student Recruitment, Engagement, Mentoring, and Programming; and
3) External Outreach and Relationship-building. The position reports to the Dean’s office in the Miller College of Business.
4) Provide leadership for the Weidner Center.

The Department of Applied Business Studies in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University has an opening for the Director of the Weidner Center.  The Director teaches courses as well as develops and manages various Center programs. Administrative duties involve: 1) Center and Advisory Board Leadership; 2) Student Engagement, Mentoring, and Programming; and 3) External Outreach and Relationship-building. The position reports to the Dean's office in the Miller College of Business.

1) Center, Program, and Advisory Board Leadership;
2) Student Recruitment, Engagement, Mentoring, and Programming; and
3) External Outreach and Relationship-building. The position reports to the Dean’s office in the Miller College of Business.
4) Provide leadership for the Weidner Center.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of full-time professional employment related to property management; professional experience in property management with leadership experience.

OR:

Master’s degree with 10 years of full-time professional employment related to property management; professional experience in property management with leadership experience.

Preferred Education:

Master's degree.

Minimum Experience:

If you hold a bachelor’s degree, you must have a minimum of 15 years of full-time professional employment related to property management as well as professional experience in property management with leadership experience.

OR:

If you hold a master’s degree, you must have a minimum of 10 years of full-time professional employment related to property management as well as professional experience in property management with leadership experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and/or nurture stakeholder partnerships including an active advisory board, business constituents and alumni, and faculty.
  • Develop and direct programs and events related to property management to maintain a rich calendar of learning opportunities (e.g. mentoring program, external competitions, industry engagement, site visits).
  • Strategic planning, development, and initiatives that support growth and continuous improvement of the Property Management program.
  • Develop a new career readiness program that emphasizes the development of skills and abilities valued by employers in the Property Management industry.
  • Manage the Center's budget, fund raising and assist university foundation and development office in securing resources necessary to fulfill the Center's mission.
  • Student recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Mentor and supervise a student assistant.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Teach introductory and capstone courses in property management; coordinate the Property Management Internship Program and provides academic supervision of the interns. Oversee the preparation for and administration of professional designation exams.
