Auxiliary Services invites applications for the position of Events Operations Staff. Reporting to the Manager, Event & Pub Operations, this individual will prepare and maintain facilities to support campus activities, events, and conferences.

Some specific duties include:
  • maintain physical logistics for all campus events. Set up all campus events as necessary, including but not limited to tables, chairs, recreation center equipment, furniture, bleachers, etc.;
  • coordinate, plan, and ensure event logistics execution for all university events including key, high-profile events for Admissions, Development, Alumni, Student Life, and Office of the President (Open House, Admitted Student Day, Alumni Weekend, Family Weekend, Commencement). Presence is required at these events as several high-profile events take place on weekends and in the evenings;
  • assist, when necessary, athletic event preparation and snow removal;
  • support all events on campus, and assist as needed in all campus grounds and buildings;
  • prepare work schedules and assist in hiring and training, organizing student workers to complete event set-up and take down;
  • coordinate with the Manager of Events & Pub Operations and Associate Director of Conference Services to determine external client event setup needs;
  • move equipment, furniture, and other miscellaneous items (25-50 pounds depending on assignment); and
  • other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • 2-3 years of events experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machinery-experience on small grounds/snow equipment.
  • Must have a valid and satisfactory driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all tasks/responsibilities of the position is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow complex and simple directions/directives.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as necessary.
  • Satisfactory background and/orDMVchecks required

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • A high school diploma is preferred
