Our research approach supports important National Cancer Institute goals including ensuring every cancer patient has access to the newest and most innovative clinical trials in the nation, clinicians and researchers work together to initiate new research protocols based on the clinician's interaction with the patient, and each cancer patient receives personalized treatment through the interaction of the multidisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals.

Job Summary
The candidate is essential to provide support to the laboratories by monitoring, and keeping up with inventory to make sure the labs have the necessary items.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Laboratory gases and LN2 monitoring: The employee will monitor and record the critical lab gases (CO2, Nitrogen, and Oxygen) on floors 1-4 of the cancer center. The employee will make purchasing requests for supplemental and replacement gases based on the current levels and anticipated activities of the lab personnel using the gases. Special request for gases will be taken by the employee from the research staff as needed. Courier: Assist with laboratory package delivery to labs and distribution of mail to individual faculty and staff. Business Technology Inventory: The employee will assist the technology control office with cataloging and tracking business technologies (computers, computer peripherals, copiers, administrative technology support, software) that are owned by the Cancer Center. The employee will catalog new business technologies as acquired and assist in the bl-annual Inventory of the Cancer Center's business technologies. Laboratory Asset Inventory: The employee will assist the equipment control officer with cataloging and tracking of capital assets owned by the Georgia Cancer Center. The employee will update the asset inventory as required when new assets are procured by the Cancer Center as well as a bi-annual comprehensive inventory of all capital assets.
Other: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Grade: R14

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
